We are the weight we carry (working title)

When do you keep going, and when do you stop? How do you make that decision? When we stop, we also make space. What if stopping is not the ending of a story, but the beginning of something new?

We are the weight we carry is a new duet by Marta & Kim, created for the outdoor programmes of festivals. In 25 minutes, two performers explore how two bodies, two people, two histories carry something together, until one of them chooses to change. Here stopping becomes not a failure, but a physical act that reshapes the relationship. And in doing so makes room for new ideas.

After the larger productions FLUX and Meander, Marta & Kim return to their roots: the duet, just the two of them, close to the audience. With the pop-up version of ENGEL they discovered that an accessible, high-quality outdoor performance holds its own place at festivals: visible and welcoming to anyone passing by, and at the same time layered enough to touch the seasoned spectator. ENGEL pop-up played more than a hundred times and built an international touring circuit that remains active today.
